iPod nano erased all its files

By mzandrew

Our friend Hyrum has an iPod nano 2nd gen 4 gig and he wanted to charge it the other day. It’s usb only, but we already had a firewire cable plugged in to my girlfriend’s mac mini and I remembered that even though the newer iPod’s ain’t firewire, they can still charge from it. So I plugged it in and it started charging and put up a message saying that it can’t sync via firewire. An hour or two later, Hyrum noticed that the iPod had no music on it. I checked the computer and the iPod definitely wasn’t mounted.

So that means the iPod deleted its own files. All of them. Hyrum has a backup of all the music, so it’s not a catastrophe, but geez. Apple’s reputation for making quality products is more marketing propaganda than anything.
